We are a small family breeder of AKC full German descent bloodlines, black & red German Shepherds. We are located in the foothills of beautiful western North Carolina. Our Sire and Dam have exceptional pedigrees, including Sieger championships and also Schutzhund certifications from both sides. Our German Shepherd Dogs are standard breed size German Shepherds; not the large boned American bloodline bred shepherds.
This enables us to help insure against hip dysplasia and future arthritis problems. All of our pups are raised in a family environment where they are socialized from birth, and introduced to other dogs, people, children, and sounds. From protection, companionship, or working, our dogs have a combination of qualities. We decided to begin raising a small kennel in order for families like us to have the opportunity to own this amazing dog at a price that is affordable. When my husband and I first met, one of the first things we discovered about each other was that we both had a love for the German Shepherd dog.
Now, almost 30 years later, we find ourselves older, wiser, and still in love with this magnificent, noble, breed. The blessing of inheriting a farm from my husband's parents in the heart of North Carolina, provided us a perfect place to raise a family and dogs. With many years of experience of owning German Shepherds, we found the necessity to be very selective in the quality of our breeding pairs. We have been committed to finding the right temperament, health quality, and beauty that would meet the standards for producing the best dogs. Rambo can be described as the more loving and affectionate doggy of the duo.
He is always looking for pets and loves to give you kisses. Rambo is the kind of dog who loves to be by your side and doing things with you. No really, he will basically insist you keep brushing him. Rambo would love to go out for hikes, walks and or just hangout in the back yard playing ball all day.
Rambo would do good with teenage kids, but has never been around young kids so we can't say for sure how he would be. He has shown no signs of treat, toy or food aggression in any way. He can be very vocal, which can easily be mistaken as being mean. But the one thing I learned about him is he just likes to grumble and talk!
Some German Shepherds are just that way; just like some humans talk to themselves. As far as crate training goes, he knows to go to his crate when told and will actually go sleep in his crate if he's ready for bed. Once he adapted to a new home, I don't think a crate would be necessary for him.
He has never chewed on furniture etc and would love to sleep with you or in a bed next to you. We have chosen to own and breed for sale only to the West German Show line based on the stable temperament as well as the extreme versatility of the dog. Our dogs come from titled lineage and have been selected based on their health ratings in both their hips and their elbows. They carry an OFA certification or an "a" stamp rating depending on whether or not they were imported from Germany.
They have been owner handled and trained and have been given the greatest of care during their lives. All of our dogs are black and red in color and have beautiful coats with a rich pigment. Their health, personality, and their temperament is ideal for a family or for an individual who is desiring a companion dog. When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. They are usually black & tan, large boned, plush coated pups. The parents are always OFA certified & sound in every way.
